[DEVELOPMENT OF MULTI-IMPLANTER]

Good implantation technique is a key for successful hair transplant. The first modern style implanter is Choi implanter developed in early 1990s by Dr. Jung-Chul Kim(KNUH) and Dr. Choi Young-Chul. Implanter is becoming more popular in the era of FUE.
The advantage of using an implanter is fast and the better survival, however, it also needs learning time to master the technique. To date, the most efficient way to use a single implanter is to place a deliverer between loader and physician. But it needs one more manpower and there are possibilities of dropping the implanter or sharp needle injury. And it also requires considerable concentration and team-work.
We have developed a multi-implanter called, INRT, which is a hand-held device that contains 10 miniaturized implanter needles, and they are automatically exchanges like a revolver pistol. NRUT multi-implanter enables continuously place ten grafts at a time.
The advantages of INRTU multi-implanter are; 1. It is Faster than any other methods 2. Save surgical assistant’s manpower 3. Safer - It can reduce needle stick injury that can occur during the transfer of the implanter. 4. Reduce surgical time is also good for patients
INRUT multi-implanter is a revolutionary in hair transplantation. After two-months training, it can easily place 1,500 grafts/hour.

[Follicular unit excision hair transplantation surgery]

FUE was first introduced in literature in 2002 by Rassman and Bernstein. FUE is gaining popularity because it avoids a linear donor scar and reduces postoperative pain.
Especially during the last decade, FUE has shown remarkable developmental leaps to achieving excellent surgical results, FUE megasession, Non-shaven FUE and even long hair FUE.
In this lecture, I will introduce basic concepts about physics and dynamics of FUE, comparing various FUE punches and devices, techniques to reduce follicular injury during FUE and more about state-of-art techniques in FUE hair transplant surgery.

[Tips to Make Natural Results in Female Hairline Correction Surgery]

Since female hairline correction surgery is for cosmetic purposes, the surgeon performing the surgery requires a sense of aesthetics and advanced surgical technique. I would like to explain the important elements that I want to emphasize in female hairline correction surgery with 4AD. Female hairline correction surgery requires the surgeon's artistic design sense (Artistic Design), appropriate hair density (Adequate Density) suitable for the transplant site, angles and direction of the hair transplanted to the recipient area (Angles and Direction), and hair quality. Appropriate distribution of hair follicle groups according to thickness and number of hairs (Adjusted Distribution) should work well.

There are the simple tips needed for surgical techniques

Traction refers to pulling the skin in the direction the needle travels with the left hand.
Extension refers to stretching the skin with two fingers of the left hand.
Bevel down means to direct the bevel of the needle toward the skin.
Two-step insertion means that the angle of the inplanter needle is changed when entering the dermis layer after penetrating the epidermis.

Perfect results are achieved by a combination of artistic design and precise surgical skill. The result of a female hairline restoration surgery should be a natural hairline that gives a more attractive appearance and a more feminine look.

[Hair transplatation and Vitiligo]

Vitiligo is a disease of unknown cause. Many therapeutic options are available for treating vitiligo such as photo and eximer laser therapy, topical and systemic steroids, transplantation of blister tops or 1-2mm sized minigrafts from normal pigmented area.
Regardless of the treatment, repigmentation usually begins in
the perifollicular area. Hair follicles are believed to harbor a
reservoir population of inactive or precursor melanocytes. Studies have suggested that these are present in skin and hair follicles, especially the upper two thirds.
Transplantation of single hair could be a treatment of choice, but the difficulty of procedure and necessity of hair removal remain a problem.
Recently, the introduction of motorized micro-punching machine in the area of the hair transplantation make it possible to punch 0.4mm sized normal skin.
Implantation of 0.4mm sized normal pigmented skin to the vitiligo lesion successfully can treat refractory vitiligo.

There are two methods in donor harvesting.

It is FUT & FUE.

Each method has advantage & disadvantage

We use implanter when we transplant hair on recipient area.

Multi-implanter is a new one which has invented 4 years before.

It has many advantages to surgeon, assistant and patient in hair transplantation
